Personalized Productions has been presenting unique and interesting programs on Microsoft Project where focus has been on delivering half day programs on specific topics using MS Project.

We are happy to announce that we are now expanding our delivery to include a series of 3 full days of hands-on MS Project training.

Half Day Programs

  • Tips & Tricks for Managing Programs (Multiple Projects) in Microsoft Project Server
    • This class focuses on Tips & Tricks in the Project Server world.  In order to do this, we'll demonstrate key best practices by setting up and managing a Program of related multiple projects.  In particular, we'll cover:
       
      • Creating a Program in Project Server 2007
      • Establish Dependencies between Projects
      • Review Schedule and Workspace Structure

    Managing Multiple Projects on a Shoestring Budget
    • During this presentation we will examine an organization that is struggling to get a handle on the status of their current projects and the allocation of its resources
    • We will demonstrate how Desktop Microsoft Project can be leveraged to provide insight and improved decision making
    • We will demonstrate:
      • How to create a Shared Resource Pool
      • How to create a Dashboard for roll up reporting
      • How a standard process is important for consistent reporting
      • How to structure your "architecture" to enable success
      • How to see resource allocations across multiple projects
      • How to tie Issues and Risks directly to their respective projects

  • Cost Management with Microsoft Project
    • This class focuses on how to leverage Microsoft Project to plan, manage and report on the costs of your project
    • We examine the various processes within PMI's Project Cost Management Knowledge area
    • We demonstrate how to add Labor, Material, Equipment, and other planned purchases to your project in order to establish the Cost Baseline for a project
    • We then apply Actual Costs to the project
    • We produce and review some Performance Reports that can be produced to inspect the Planned versus Actual Costs for the project

    • Dynamic Scheduling and Deadlines

      • We will demonstrate the benefit of developing a dynamic schedule and the use of deadlines

      • Come find out about Microsoft's newly released series of certifications for Microsoft Project

      • Stump The Experts

      • Bring in your worst or trickiest problem and see if our panel of experts can solve it (focus will be on using MS Project as a stand alone)

      • We will collectively define dashboard and then look at some formal definitions

    • What might be included in a Dashboard

      • We'll discuss what attributes might be useful to capture in a Dashboard and then look at some examples

    • A Dashboard Using a Single Project

      • We will show you how to use a single MS Project file to create a dashboard

    • Project Server - Project Center

      • We'll take a look at a Dashboard within Microsoft Project Server and describe how it gets created

    • Portfolio Server Dashboard

      • Take a quick look at a Dashboard within Microsoft Portfolio Server and describe how it gets created
